Agentic representation for ecosystems
If it is inevitable that we will all have AI agents acting on our behalf, should other living systems also have agents that represent their interests? If equipped with data about an ecosystem and given capital to act, what actions might an agent take to protect the ecosystem it represents?
Speak for the Trees explores these concepts, and aims to advance the Rights of Nature movement by reconnecting people to their surrounding environment. We are building tools the progressively increase the capabilities of a voice that represents an ecosystem. We have built two experiences so far. First, we released a newsletter that sends periodic field reports about any set of coordiniates in the country. Second, we built an agent that uses recent ecological data to narrate brief stories about an ecosystem.
